Formal Education

I recently earned an Associate of Science degree in Engineering Graphics and Design Technology at Utah Valley University, as well as a Certificate in Mechanical Design. I received "Student of Excellence" and earned straight A's in all my drafting and design courses. I was the 1st Place Champion in Technical Drafting at SkillsUSA Utah competition in 2019.

I studied Technical Theatre at Southern Utah University and earned an Associate of Science in 2010. I worked on as many as 17 different productions in one semester. I loved lighting design, scenic painting, and making props for shows.

Informal Education

I learned Adobe Illustrator and InDesign while working as a mockup production assistant at Die Cuts with a View -- a home decor and scrapbooking company. That helped me to be promoted to Package Designer for paper products within the same company.

I was taught to cross-stitch, do calligraphy, and watercolor paint through family and friends.

​

I've always had an eye for design and formatting, and as I kid loved to create flyers, invitations, and other Microsoft Publisher projects. Now I love doing that in Adobe Illustrator.

Work Process

When faced with a new challenge, I like to brainstorm ideas, create rough drafts, and then dive right in. I learn best when I am figuring things out through trial and error -- my mistakes are great teachers. When all else fails, just google it!
